1945, London. Keeley Hawes (Ashes to ashes, Bodyguard) portraits Priscilla Garrick, a senior civil servant at the Cabinet Office and Emma Appleton is Feef, a woman in her twenties who joins the Civil Service and needs to cross Priscilla's path. I liked Feef's development: at the end of the show she's not that young woman we met in the first episode anymore. And then there are lies, spies and homicides, what else can you ask for? Since I love The Americans, this reminded me of it, as a sort of a precursor of that show. Vote: hoping for a second season!

Mi è piaciuta l'evoluzione di Feef: alla fine della serie non è più la giovane donna che abbiamo incontrato nel primo episodio. E poi ci sono bugie, spie ed omicidi, cosa volete di più? Siccome mi piace The Americans, questa serie un po' me lo ricorda, come una sorta di precursore. Voto: spero ci sia una seconda stagione!

After a school shooting, eighteen-year-old Maja is charged with murder and brought to prison, isolated. She doesn't remember what happened and her only contact with the outside is her lawyer. Flashbacks brings are back to Maja meeting Sebastian, who introduces her to a gilded world made by parties and excesses, but slowly memories resurface and Maja finally is able to remember what happened ... I was left with this feeling: Maja was surrounded by so many people but basically alone.

Dopo una sparatoria a scuola, la diciottenne Maja viene accusata di omicidio e portata in carcere, in isolamento. Non ricorda cosa sia successo e il suo unico contatto con l'esterno è il suo avvocato. I flashback ci riportano ad una Maja che incontra Sebastian, che la introduce ad un mondo dorato, fatto di feste ed eccessi, ma piano piano i ricordi affiorano e Maja alla fine riesce a ricordare come siano andate le cose ... Mi è rimasta questa sensazione: Maja era circondata da molte persone ma fondamentalmente sola.

What did I know about Gad Elmaleh before his live stand-up specials on Netflix? Not very much apart from that he is a French actor and had a son with Charlotte Casiraghi.
After seeing those specials I was suprised: why hadn't I discovered him before? It's so funny, it makes you laugh without vulgarities! I even rewatched when I needed a good laugh!
So when I saw there was a series with Gad I said: right away! But, for me it's not well written: some storylines are too predictable (= not funny) and some characters/situations are not grotesque enough to make you laugh. I'd say that portraying himself has taken out some sparkle out of Gad.

Cosa sapevo di Gad Elmaleh prima degli speciali su Netflix? Non molto a parte il fatto che è un attore francese e che ha avuto un figlio da Charlotte Casiraghi.
Dopo aver visto quegli speciali ero sorpresa: perchè non l'avevo scoperto prima? E' così divertente, ti fa ridere senza essere volgare! Li ho pure rivisti quando avevo voglia di una risata!
Quindi quando ho visto che c'era una serie con Gad mi sono detta: eccomi! Ma per me questa serie è proprio scritta male: alcune trame sono troppo prevedibili (= non divertenti) e i personaggi o le situazioni non sono abbastanza grotteschi per riuscire a far ridere. Direi che interpretare se stesso ha tolto un po' di brio a Gad.
